Vibration under acceleration 2007 Outlander
2007 Outlander w/216,000 miles. Recently purchased. Under acceleration, vibration is felt from the front. If I turn left (accelerating) the vibration stops. Right turning the vibration increases slightly from that felt going straight. All CV boots are clean/dry. Right CV axle displays only minor in-and-out movement (accompanied by a clunking) and torsion (twisting) the same. Left half shaft is tight w/no clunking. I suspect I have an inner right CV joint issue, yet not certain. Only other issue found is the left strut has developed a leak (right appears to be new). Any other areas I should be checking prior to changing the right half shaft?
Thanks in advance |
Suspecting the issue is an inner axle joint, I spent more time inspecting both left and right front half-shafts. I can feel a metal-on-metal feeling coming from the left inner while engaged/rotating, although no discernible play . I've ordered a replacement. I'll know soon enough if I accurately diagnosed the cause of the vibration...

I have the outlander 2007 and hope that it won't have same issue as yours. |
