Default Weird problem need help

Got into my outlander today and the driver side interior dome light didnt turn on'

All other interior lights turned on so its not the fuse.

I have tried replacing the bulb but it still doesnt turn on!

Whats going on? does the driver side dome light have a separate fuse?

Can anyone help?

thanks in advance

Default My passenger side did that a few days ago.

I just rotated the bulb in the socket a bit to scrape any oxidization off the contacts and it lit right up again. The bulb and the fuse were fine. Maybe try this?

I had much the same thing happen. Driver's side no workie, put that bulb in the passenger's side and it worked fine. The passenger's bulb then didn't work in the driver's side just by touching the contacts, but after fitting it into place it worked again, so there may be a possibility of a bad connection of the contacts where they mount into the housing.

Have you checked for voltage at the bulb socket?

Probably the door switch. I have never examined the switches as never had one fail, but probably worth opening it and connecting the wires to see if this turns the light on. Or just check the voltage at the switch.

Just open the door and look on the body of the car (not the door) adjacent to the big metal bracket that the door engages with to hold the door closed (sorry, that is a poor description, I dont know the names of those parts!). The switch is contained in a rubber housing that protrudes out and the door presses on it when the door is closed. Pressing and releasing that switch with your finger will turn the light on and off.
If you cant find it let me know and I will email you a picture.
