What about the input hole under the nav screen?
Hi,
I am new to this forum but have read many of the posts. I recently purchased an 07 Outlander XLS and I love it. I was told at the time of the purchase that the input hole once the nav screen is open is for an iPod connection. I haven't been able to confirm and I have seen similar queries from other members.
2 other things that I would be interested in learning more about:
1.) Bypassing the control that restricts you from watching DVD's while driving. I know this is a MAJOR safety hazard but it is for my infant daughter that sits in the middle of the second row in a car seat. I certainly know have enough knowledge (or courage) to do anything on my own and I would want to take it to a safe place to get this done.
2.) I did hear the "clunk" noise once (or twice) as I was backing out of my garage and thought "oh no". But I haven't heard it since. I'll keep an ear on it but would be interested to see what Mitsubishi says about that since almost everyone has experienced it once or twice before.
Look forward to hearing back from folks.
Thanks,
AMR

Has anyone considered it might be some sort of input so that you can update the NAV system w/ new street info.? Since the NAV system is hard drive-based as oppossed to DVD-based like most NAV systems it makes sense.

Does the manual not state what the input is for?

I think if it was in the manual and easy to find....we would have had an answer already.
