Default What Tires Do You Run?

I live in Colorado and spend my weekends in the mountains. Summertime i'm on rocky dirty roads in the Forrest and wilderness areas. Winter time i'm driving on snow covered highway and mountain passes.

The only options i see for snow and all season/terrain is
Yoko Geolander (All terrain)
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...C&autoModClar=

Goodyear WeatherReady(not all terrain)
https://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires...e-weatherready

My question is for any CUV/SUV driver. Outlander, Outlander sport or any car the size of an Outlander Sport, what tire models do you run and on what kind of weather and terrain?

Or Nokian Tires

Live in the Northeast Horrible Roads Everywhere, lots of rain/snow.

I've had several pairs of Firestone duelers. I now run continentals...cant remember model...haven't had them on during winter yet, but reviews are good.

Default Tires on my 2018 Outlander GT PHEV

I can’t speak for offroad travel. This is my fulltime Uber vehicle in Seattle, I drive 60,000 miles a year in all conditions. The factory 225/55R18 Toyo A24’s were unacceptably noisy, I replaced them with Michelin Premier A/S tires. These quieted the noise quite a bit, though to make the cabin noise truly acceptable I ended up stripping off Mitsubishi’s cheap hard foam sound insulation (using a scraper, isopropyl alcohol, and acetone) and lining the entire cabin interior’s sheet metal with Dynamat, 3-6 layers (about $2,000 worth, it took me 100 hours). The first winter, February 2019, there were 3 weeks of icy weather, the only studded winter tires available were 225/60R18 so I bought those and discovered that these were quieter than the Premiers. So, the following spring, I put 225/60R18 Michelin Premier LTX tires on. They were wonderfully quiet and smooth-riding, also they had fantastic resistance to hydroplaning (important, in Seattle). But they had one crucial flaw: the sidewalls were too soft. On I-5 over expansion joints the car violently porpoised. Same when going over railroad tracks. So, after briefly trying 235/55R18 Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S II tires (they were horrible), my tire store manager suggested I try 225/60R18 Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires. I did and found them to be excellent. They track incredibly straight and raise the handling performance of the Outlander to a whole ‘nother level. Not as soft riding and quiet as the Premier LTX, but acceptable, and not quite as much resistance to hydroplaning, but with 4WD Lock on (I always turn it on whenever the road looks damp or the air temp dips below 38°F) the Primacy’s’ wet handling performance is plenty good enough (and wet braking performance is better than the Premiers’). I just bought a new replacement set of Primacy Tour’s yesterday, I got 62,000 miles out of the old ones (and I never rotated them; the fronts were down to 2/32” and the rears 3/32”). In sum: the 225/60R18 Michelin Primacy Tour A/S is an excellent choice for this car. The new Pirelli Cinturato P7 version 2 might also be good; if anyone can loan me a set to try, I’d be curious to see how they stack up to the Primacy’s. In snow and ice I’ve never needed to chain up, I just use studded winter tires, my present set is 235/55R18, Les Schwab’s house brand. Of course, I’ve never tried to drive in snow any deeper than 6 inches (ground clearance is only 7).
