I have the Bridgestone Touranza for Summer 225/55 R18
As factory standard...

For winter I bought smaller rims (R16)
With Pirelli Scorpion Snow and Ice 205/70 R16

 

I have a 2007 ES. I have already had to replace my Yokohamas, only 25,000 miles on the tires. I had Yokies on my RAV4 and they wore out at 2 years too. I replaced them with Continentals CrossContacts. They have been on for a week, but so far, they have been great.

 

I have a 07 XLS for summer I have the OEM size 225/55/18 in Michelin MXV4 and for winter I have the TOYO Open Country G02+ in 215/70/16 (oem Ls size)

 

I still have the Eagle LS installed. We don't have much of a winter here in the Bay Area...a bit of rain...

 

I have still the 225/55/18 Goodyear LS2 for summer (I find them good for the outie, they could have more grip but they are fine for now)

for winter I have Nokian Hakka 5 SUV studded in size 225/60/17 ...

 

for the record: i had come down to either
- bridgestone dueller hp ( seems defaullt in uk and mentioned as improvement )
- Hankook ventus st rh06 ( love the profile and got good marks on low noise )
- pirelli
- Good year assurance triple tred

then my dealer told me he had been recommended Kuhmo KL51 from some of his tyre suppliers.( better then hankook ventus he said) since i did not know this tyre i looked around and found this on tirerack with extremely good marks.
So I am going to try these Kuhmos, will get back with my results after a few hundred kilometers.

 

I took of the 16" OEM alloys and Yokos which I found OK in the dry stuff, left the TPMS sensors installed and fitted Costco 16" steel rims with Michelin X-ice 215/70 R16 studless winter tyres. A bit more road noise, especially after breaking them in, but by far the best traction on our poor weather roads here in Newfoundland. If you need good winter grip then I recommend these ones. Only annoying thing is the TPMS warning light, but a bit of black insulating tape on the facia resolves that wee problem unless you want to fork out a few bucks for a 2nd set ofsensorsand a trip to the dealer to re-program the ECU.

I am running Goodyear 225/55R18 Assurance Comfortreds. I have nearly 10K on them and they still look like new. They are wearing great, are quite, ride great, and have been exceptional in the rain and snow so far this winter. They are so much better that the OE Eagle LS2 tires. I was hesitant about buying them due to poor performance of the Eagle's that came OE, but my expectations have been exceeded with these tires. I would them again with out a doubt.

 

You must not have many miles on yours. I only managed 17K before having to replace mine. I was very disappointed in the Eagle LS2 that was specified as OE by Mitsubishi. If you look closely, you will see that that tire was made in Japan, not in the US. It is a special OE tire for Mitsubishi.

 

Just replaced the factory Goodyears at 23,500 with the Yoko TRZ. They are great, ride quiet, super in rain and handle better.
