Wheel Change from 18 to 16
I want to change my wheels from the OEM 18's to OEM 16's, 2014 Outlander. Will other year groups work on my 14. I ask because would like to find a set of used ones but need to know what I'm looking for. Are Lancer rims the same?
I don't know of any people that would go from 18's to 16's. People usually try to increase rim size. But given this, you'll probably have to do the research yourself on the wheels. Wheels themselves won't really matter if the circumference of the entire setup is the same (wheel + tire). There are usually limits with the width of a wheel as well, but I don't think you'll run into a problem decreasing the size of a rim since it will likely result in a smaller rim width. You will likely have to get some really fat, high-profile tires (ratio-wise) to keep the same circumference of the overall wheel + tire. If you don't, you'll need to do some reprogramming and/or live with an inaccurate speedo/odo.
Yes with OEM 16x6.5 rims I will be running 215 70 16"s. Good A/T,off road tire selection,in the 225 55 18 not so much. I think the OEM 16x6.5 rims are the same over many model years just not 100% sure especially about offsets.
