Default won't idle

HI.

I'm a mechanic working from home, I just replace the timing belt and spark plugs on a customers 04 Outlander with the 2.4L

I got it all back together with all the timing marks bang on I started it up and it idled for a minute and then slowly idled down and stopped, it starts right back up but as soon as you take your foot off the gas it idles down and stops.

The only time I've seen something like this happen before was on a dodge caravan with a 3.3L that had had the battery disconnected for an extended period of time causing the computer to have to relearn everything, but if you kept it running with you foot on the gas for a few minutes it would be fine, i tried that on this vehicle but it didn't work.

Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

Hans
