To add to this:
if you want one? **SOON**, head over to the web site and put a boot on their butts by clickinghere------> "No product shown for your vehicle? Recommend one & we will notify you when it is released!"

I've been in touch with K&N as soon as I knew about the new Gen Outlander...just like I did with the first Gen. It'll take a little bit...but it'll be worth it.

From the test that i read K&N filters let alot of stuff get through. I would rather buy a full cold air intake and get rid of the stock intake system.

K&N drop in filters are good for the average joe who wants better fuel economy and nothing else.
K&N intake kits are useless.
Cold air intakes are great. more power, better fuel economy, and all that cool aluminum piping.

I have had one too many bad experiences with cold air intakes that are routed to the bottom of the car. I hope something is deviced were the air can be drawn from the front of the car, or some kind of cooled intake that stays in the top section of the engine bay, I will never go back to bottom routed intakes. Oh, and yes I did have a bypass valve, that didn't do much, I did not hydrolock the car, but it swallowed enough water, I guess misted water, enough tostall it and shut off. Luckylly after an hour of waiting for a tow truck the car started back up... it was the scare of a lifetime with my 04 ralliart.
