I bought my Raider from a Mitsubishi Dealer. 93000 miles 4x4 v-6, had I known the dodge intrest in it , I would not have bought it. But hindsight is 20/20. So I have a truck to pay for and 4 years to do it.

1. A turbocharger .... is it worth it and possible ?
2. A plow, can it be done .... is it worth it ? The manual says not to put one on.
3. A truck bed cap any ideas ?
4. So far I have put on the K&N Air filter, Mobile One 5/30 Full synthetic oil and filter, and using plus gasoline. I raised the avg gas mileage to 20mpg instead of 16.
5. Now it is time to make it a work truck, so any suggestions that you gentlemen and ladies and have would be greatly appreciated.

Best mileage we have ever had was 18.5 and that was with Mobil1 5x30 and the wife driving. :D

Hey. I've had this truck for 7 years with no issues. Don't be put off by the dodge manufacturing. I installed a turbo in mine and I love the extra power but I do nt recommend it unless you are willing to spend some time nd money. By the way 20mpg is excellent. I don't think I've heard about the raider or even the dakota for that matter get mpgs that high. In this other forum I joined two people have successfully installed snow plows with the v8 but I'm not sure how the v6 would perdorm

I used a scan gauge 2 hooked up 24/7 and I did adjust my driving habits to raise the mpg. It really wasn't all that hard. I do love that gauge and the fact that it can read codes and clear as well is a good bonus.
Thanks for the extra thought on the V-6 vs V-8 snowplow power. That one had slipped my mind. So yes more thought required now.

I interested in the turbo, and the related costs. Hoping that it can be done at my garage , not requiring too many specialty tools. My best friend has been a welder of all types for over 30 years now. So got the welding covered.
Just wondered if there is a kit or this is something that needs to but comprised of parts from different vendors.

If you have the means go for it! I had a friend help me do must of the work nd racked up about 3K with all said nd done. This thread might be a good start:

Thank you MitsuRaider that link was amazing. How is the viscosity of the oil with the turbo installed ?. I was wondering about a separate oil closed system to not interfere with the engine oil. I too had my toy car Mercedes SL600 v-12 with almost 12 quarts of oil. Sold it to get my truck. Safety was my concern after a bad accident before the SL600. You have given me much more to consider. So I thank you personally.

I use slightly ticker oil now to make up for the added heat. I don't think you need to loop a batch of oil just for the turbo. You will be fine, just make sure to install a turbo timer to keep your scavenging oil pump working for a few seconds after you turn off your car. This will allow all the oil in the turbo to be drained off after every drive so that ur oil doesn't sit in the blazing hot turbo cooking up.
