Default Diesel Raider Swap

Howdy y'all. I've got a v6 2wd raider and have been toying with the idea of a diesel 4wd swap. I absolutely love the raider and would enjoy keeping it as long as possible. When the main engine dies, I want to have a fully brainstormed plan on how to do this.

With that said, shall we discuss what I need? Definitely v6 or v8, no chance in hell I'd put an i4 in the engine bay unless it was being TTd, and even then that's stupid.

Has to be manual, 5 or 6 speed. I was toying with the 6.5L Chevy engine, I could probably get the actual truck (the Chevy 2500) for around 2-3k. In manual would make it even better.

Assuming that, I'd then have to get mounts made, and fab the shifter. I'm pretty good at wiring, so splicing wires or making a pin harness wouldn't be too hard for me. The control arms might need some sort of adjustment to be put on, as well as (i'd assume) a camber/caster adjustment.

So, what else?
