1998 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.5l GDI, JDM Fuel.
Hi Everyone.
Looking for some assistance. I have a 1998 Pajero 3.5L GDI. It has less than a 100000km and it is a JDM. I am having a rather odd issues with. When I start the vehicle in the cold or worn temperatures it has trouble starting, when I do mange to get it started and press on the accelerator, it starts reeving gets to 2500 rpm and then chokes like it's going to stall. I release the accelerator and it levels out. As soon as I put it in drive, it starts stalling. I have an autotel MK908 scanner and programmer which tells me that there are no trouble codes. Here is the list of things I have cheeked or replaced:
1. Fuel pump and strainer
2. Fuel filter.
3. Small filters in the injectors and high pressure fuel pump located on the engine.
4. Open up the intake manifold and cleaned all of the EGR sludge out of it.
5. Checked the vacuum operated throttles located inside the intake manifold. They operate correctly and the vacuum transfer solenoid as well.
6. Replaced the spark plugs and cheeked the ignition coils all working correctly,
7. Replaced the MAF sensor. Nothing changed.
8. Removed the catalytic converter to inspect for damage or blockage. All good.
9. Replaced all of the vacuum liens on the intake manifold.
10. Removed and opened the ECU. No visual damage or corrosion is present.
11. Checked the engine coolant sensor resistance, it is within spec.
Plus as soon as I disconnect the negative terminal and let it sit for 10 minuets, connect it again for about 5 minutes it runs as it should and then starts stalling again.
If anyone has any ideas please were to look next, i will welcome it.
Thanks.
