2002 Montero Sport 3.5l
Hey everyone I'm new here and I'm in desperate need of answers. I have a 2002 Montero Sport 3.5 L and it currently has about 308k miles. It's a lot of miles but I know she still has life in her. One thing that has been happening to me lately is that I will be driving and when I reduce the speed or come to a stop my vehicle will turn off. The only way I keep it on is if I step on the break and on the gas at the same time to avoid it from turning off. Why do I do that??? because if it does turn off it won't start up right away. It cranks and I have to wait about 30 seconds and then try to start it and then it will turn on sometimes maybe even a minute which totally frustrates the traffic behind me which I understand could be annoying. I have no idea what it could be and if I were to take it to the dealership they're just going to tell me to get a new car which I think is ridiculous because an owner knows her car and it's not ready to give up yet. I should mention that this doesn't happen every single time though. But just knowing what I could be facing tomorrow has me wondering what I could do to try to fix this problem. And when I say, "what I could do" is because I try to buy the parts and then have my mechanic install them. I wonder if this has happened to any other person or is it just my vehicle acting up. Thanks
