I bought a 95 eclipse rs (5 speed) as a project car. So far I have:

Had the engine rebuilt
The tranny adjusted
The exhaust fixed

I was driving it to work the other day when it just died on me in the parking lot. I was in 1st gear so I shifted it to Neutral and rolled in back wards into a parking spot after trying to start it a few times.

I know it's not the injectors they were replaced when the engine was rebuilt and I know it isn't the fuel pump because you can hear it running when you try to start the car.

HELP

 

is it trying to turn over, can you hear it cranking when you turn the key??

 

if I had to guess with the VAGUE description of whats going on I would say Timing is off. Let us know what it ends up being.

 

Its cranking and everything. I dont know the timing belt and everything is new I dont know what it could be.

 

Yeah it cranking, power is coming on and you can hear the fuel pump start up.... its just not turning over..... I dont know what it could be.
What about the distributor? Could that be it maybe?

 

Hmmmm...I dont remember if the 420A is a DIS motor like the 4G63 or not. I dont recall to be honest. Its been a few years.

 

I have that exact same car, and it is DIS

 

I thought so...with that said and confirmed..NO its not the distributor.
