Hello:

I have an 04 Lancer that upon cold start up makes a low tapping or knocking sound. At initial start up the engine revs a bit, but once it settles in after 2-3 seconds I can hear the noise. It eventually goes away after 2-5 minutes depending how cold it is outside. It drives fine. I bought this from my brother-in-law, and he said it's been doing it for a few years. About 107,000 on the car now. Any ideas?
