Sweet, just joined and checking everything out. You guys have a lot of info here. Anyway, I'm a 3rd gen Eclipse owner and just started my mod's. I've worked on the 4G64 before and want to see how much power I can squeeze out before going to forced induction.

Got it. Took me a long time to figure out how to post anything here. I think I've got it figured out!

My long-time 92 Monty died about a month ago. Engine finally seized up from a leak from the cooling system to the oil lines somewhere. Knew it was coming. We celebrated 330,000 miles with it though. Loved that Monty. So much so that I insisted we find another. Not an easy task in Alaska. I was so desperate, I was following people who had one around and asking them if they were interested in selling. The unanimous answer was, "NO--are you kidding?"

So . . . we bundled up, hopped a plane to Seattle and searched around there for a 92-96 Monty. The first two we looked at were trashed. The gear boxes were loose and the drivetrains were jumbled. Both 96's with dohc. We continued the hunt and found one nice one in Monroe, but continued on to purchase one in Emunclaw (I think that's right). It was a tight 95 LS sohc with 134,000 miles. We bought it and drove it up the Alcan Highway to Wasilla. No problems anywhere. Put new tires on in Whitehorse. Otherwise, what a great (new to us) vehicle.

We will keep the old Monty for parts, but will have to tow it from Anchorage to Wasilla. Any suggestions out there about towing one monty with another?

Thanks!
