ASX 64reg
Evening everyone,
I have the above ASX 2014/15 diesel. Four weeks ago a high oil level warning light came on. I took it to my garage and he took out the excessive amount to bring my back to the correct level. Then a week later the same happened. I only drive 22-30 Miles a day in total. I thought the regeneration filter was fully resetting and gushing through diesel to clean.
My garage has said the error needs to be reset. But a help dealer says to drive car on cruise control at 40-50mph for 30mins for regeneration to work. Turn off engine and on then error will disappear?
can anyone advise?

your DPF system is not working correctly, and you need to find the cause.
Is the car being driven fast enough? 40kmh is the minimun speed thatthe dpf will regenerate at. if you are not acheiving these speeds, or frequently dropping below them then the system will malfunction
is there an airleak into the inlet system? a split hose can cause the sensors to give a false reading and cause the dpf to stop regenerating
are you using a suitable low ash oil?
taking oil out is not a suitable repiar. The oil is being diluted with diesel, so its getting thinner, and losing its lubrication efficiency. Get the problem sorted and then change the oil.. DO NOT CHANGE THE OIL UNTIL IT HAS BEEN FIXED AS YOU WILL JUST CONTAMINATE YOUR NEW OIL
