00 galant odd issues
i just got a 2000 galant with the 2.4 & noticed a few things odd about it. First, on a cold start, the idle revs up to a little over 2k, almost 2.5k, then slowly comes down off its high. I'm thinking, bad IAC but I've only been wrenching for a few years. Associated with that(at least I think so) is when its warmed it for a bit, the idle drops below spec to between 600 & 800 RPM. When it drops, the oil pressure light comes on. Second, there's no emissions label that I can find on my car & i need to know if its a California model or Federal since I need to replace both O2 sensors & the cat. The first cat is original & blown out & the second one has the O2 sensor welded into the bung by some backwoods hick mechanic. Third, is the AC clutch serviceable as a separate unit or does the whole compressor need to be changed? The clutch is blown & embedded shrapnel in my belt.
I can walk the walk, so just let me know your diag. steps for the idle issue

Check the ECU. Open it up, and look for obviously destroyed components. Take a high resolution photo of the back of the circuit board so that I can observe it for signs of heat damage.
Next time, make another thread.

Newbi here...glad to have found this site. I am the proud owner of a 2005 Montero Ltd. Love this car. But....here's the problem. Have to leave the ignition switch in the on position for at least 25 seconds, then it will start after 5 or 6 cranks. If I do not do that it will take 15 or 20 cranks...and perhaps multiple attempts. Sounds like a new fuel pump and filter but I hate to drop the tank if it's something else. 97K miles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! If you could help me in one of my other threads, I flooded my engine and I think the starters bad, the engine won't crank and it makes a low hum when I hold it.
Also how can I manually crank my crankshaft?

Hey, I have an 07 outlander 3.0L and there is a weird buzzing/humming sound coming from the throttle position sensor when the ignition is on (not very loud). Is this common or a sign that the TPS on it's way out? I've asked this question before and still can't get an answer. Thanks
