Kristin, you're best bet is to find out first off whats gone wrong.
What is the car doing right now?
Knocking, bucking, sputtering?

 

It could be something very simple. If you could explain what happened when the car broke down it would be easier to pin point the problem.

As for putting a turbo engine in the car, there is basically no swap you can drop in. Especially if you are tight on cash thats not something you want to dive into. Personally i say just pick up another 420a engine (if thats whats wrong)

 

Hey Kristen... Welcome. If your gonna get a new engine just go with a 2.4 off of a Cirrus or any other Chrysler and turbo it up! It should just bolt on.

cuz da 420A is a chrysler engine.... pretty much all the chrysler engines have thethe same layout and most of them use the same tranny

Yea! My mechanic suggested I go 2.4 and adapt a turbo. He has done it before....He says its alot better and faster. I was talkin to another DSMer and he said he might go 2.4 on his GSX and stroke it.
