Howdy, folks.

I'm here because I've recently discovered that my appreciation for my vehicle has reached a height that may soon, if not already, be considered fanatical...and to make some contacts with other Montero owners because I may eventually need help keeping it alive...eventually.

I'm just thoroughly amazed with this machine. Let me know if any of you have similarly aged Monteros. Here are the stats:

1995 Montero LS 3.0L
215,000+ miles
22+ mpg hwy with 89 octane and Castrol GTX 10w30

non-wear items replaced:
3 ignition coils
catalytic converter
That's it!

What amazes me is how well this vehicle runs and holds the road (and the mud and snow) with this many miles. It feels just as powerful as it did when I bought it with 100,000 miles. What amazes me even more is that I replace less than 1 quart of oil between changes - which are commonly performed about every 5,000 miles.

Really, I am amazed daily.

Welcome. Thats pretty crazy for that many miles. These Mitsu engines really can last.
