Howdy - new Mistubishi owner
Hey All,
My name is Josh and I just purchased a 2014 Outlander Sport SE AWC w/4WD about a month ago. I am coming from a 2007 VW Rabbit and have never owned a Mitsubishi before.
There are a lot of things I love about the car:
-4WD. This is awesome. I got the Sport about a week before 3 snowstorms that hit NYC. I was parking where ever the h*** I wanted. Cars would try and park in a spot covered in snow, give up and I would just swing right in.
-Styling. I was originally looking at the Mazda CX-5 but when I saw the Sport, the aggressive styling (the grille is awesome) and colors available (got the blue) it had me hooked.
-Handling. It corners like a sedan - almost as sweet as my old rabbit
-Bluetooth for phone calls and playing music
-SD card slot for playing up to 32GB of Music
-Built in GPS (though the traffic analyzer isn't that great when compared to using GPS on my smart phone. Example the car's GPS had me routed in a way from Westchester, NY to Brooklyn, NY that would have taken 20 minutes longer than the GPS on my phone).
-PANORAMIC SUNROOF, BABY. People love the full ceiling window. Especially my 6-year old son, who sits in the back.
-Auto sensing windshield wipers and auto headlights. Also, cool to have fog lights.
-The heated seats warm up quickly. Way quicker that the ones in my Rabbit. it has been great for the very cold NYC winter we have been having this year.
-Paddle shifters are fun as f***
The things I don't like so far:
-The engine is anemic and the CVT doesn't help. Highway driving is a lot of paddle shifting. I wish they would have added just a bit more HP.
-The interior is fairly dull and down-market looking. Also, the leather on the driver's seat already looks like I have had the car for a few years: Kinda lumpy and stretched.
-The keyless entry is very finicky and will randomly work and then randomly not work.
-Road noise is pretty loud.
Anyway, overall I really like it and have been enjoying it immensely.
Take it easy,
Josh
