Whats goin on peeps. As you can see im new to this forum,and need as much help as possible and i knew this would be my best bet. I have a 97' eclipse RS ( Not 2 happy about the RS, looking for a GSX). But anyway until i dump it for a GSX, this ride needs some power to it just w/o spending a fortune cause im looking 2 get rid of it. What else can give me the boost im looking for besides a cat back exhaust and cold air intake. Thanks i appreciate your time to help me out.

 

Youre not going to get what you want out of that RS... suggest just keeping it running till you can sell it. But as a warning, in case you dont know... DONT ask if you can do a 4g63t swap with your 420a... its impossible and just pisses everyone off, lol.

 

Honestly, to get any real power out of that car youd need to spend alot of money. And im sure your gonna here this alot. But just stick with it for now being slow and save up. Its the better choice to do. Dont waste the money when you can save and get the gsx. Cuz if you do end up spending more money on say, cams and a chip, or something like that, your still gonna be slow and you wont see much for gains without FI. So just wait it out. it will be worth it in the end

i concur. i was one of the dumb ones that was planning on turbo'ing my 420a but in the end realized that it was not worth the money.

 

For the record, and comedy value... everyone remember the movie F&F? That eclipse, was either an RS or GS... cuz the motor was a 420a, that they decided to turbo...

 

the BESTpart about that part where he pops the hood is that you are clearly staring at a 420a with a HEADER. the first thing that comes out of the "mad scientists" mouth is "it's ot a t3 turbo Domonic..." b.s! lol

yea and then jarule looks under the hood and says he has enough nos in there to blow himself up...period, even though, yea you can see those tanks in the engine bay
