Default Just joined the Lancer Club last night.

Traded in my 2000 Dodge Intrepid (2.7l) for a Black/Black 2009 Lancer GTS (2.4l) w/ Navi and Tech (Sun & Sound).

I managed to pull 114k off my 'Trep before the repairs were getting to be more than the car was worth... hope Lancer hangs in there longer. The guy at the dealership was shocked how many factory parts survived 114k on a 'Trep so I must be doing something right. Then we got into a debate on if the 2.7l in my old car was or was not Mitsubishi everyone told me it was but he was adamant that it was not since Mit never had a 2.7l available. Who knows.

Anyway...

Right now everything is stock (c'mon, I've only had it 22 hours) mostly because the DVD/Nav version number is too high for the DVD-InMotion hack for sale on eBay. Did a lot of modding on the 'Trep, hope Lancer is as friendly.

K&N Air Filter (first mod I make to cars going back 20 years) is tomorrow.

Would love to figure out how to hack the MMCS for a larger HDD and DVD-InMotion.

Also desperately searching for an EVO-style license plate mount (in black) sometime before my 30-day tags expire.

So, hello all... looking forward to talking with you guys.

Welcome : )

Lets see some pics!

There are some great write ups on hacking the MMCS, just look around in the outlander section.

Default Noob questions:

First, how do you remove the side turn signals?

Secondly, I was just reading through the owner's manuals and noticed that (despite the sticker the dealer put on my windshield to remind me that they want to see me again in 3750 miles) Mitsubishi wants me to change my oil every 7500 miles.

REALLY?!? 7500 miles?

I'm used to feeling guilty trying to eek out 3500 - 4000 miles on every car I've ever owned before. I understand the early oil change after running-in a new engine but 7500 miles regularly? Has engine technology really changed that much? Is that what Mitsubishi wants for the warranty but I should really do it more often than that?

Any help is appreciated.

Screw that dude, continue every 3-4k.

As far as the turn signals, I am sure you could figure it out by examing the way it is bolted in, and it should be a matter of just a couple bolts.
