Default Montero 1989 - AC and Blower only turn on after hitting particular bumps in road

Hi, there!

Recently, I purchased a 1989 Montero, 3L V6. Everything works great apart from the AC and blower motor. Neither work until I hit particular bumps in the road. They will both come on for maybe 5 seconds. They either both work great or not at all.

I have taken out the blower motor and tested it on the battery and it runs facing up and down. I have also tested the voltage at the connector to the blower motor; it reads around 12v and changes as I move from speeds 1-4. From reading other posts I understand that the AC and Blower are separate units, BUT the power for both come from the same origin. I have unplugged and checked several connections, but they all seem fine. It might be that I haven't found the right one...! I have no manual, so don't know where things are. A friend suggested checking the AC pressure switch, but I cannot find it?

Does anyone have any ideas? I am very confused. Big thanks, in advance!

connection issue. hook your multimeter up to the connector and go for a drive over some bumps and see what happens.

could be loose or corroded or fatigued wires inside something, too..
