Default my intro

I just picked up a 95 Eclipse GS. I would like to putturbo into it eventually. Right now the car needs a little TLC to bring it back up to a good mechanical running order. I am currantly working on the TLC part. The car came with an aftermarket exhaust system from the manifold back and a cold air intak. I have done some back yard mechanic stuff but never really got into the preformance side. The engine is a DOHC 2.0L. Can anyone give me some ideas as to what can be done to put more pep into this little car when I get to that point???

Basically that car is not built for pep. Your advice will be to keep the mods you have. Clean her up and drrive her like she is, or if your into performance you could sell her and buy a GST or GSX.

The 420a (which is the engine in your car) is not made for performance but a reliable daily driver. If you are looking for a performance car, then sell the gs and buy a gst or gsx.

first off, welcome to the forum!! second, they are right, the 420a is a more reliable engine, but quite slow.. really the only way to make it fast is like turbo and nitrous and beef up the internals.. which in other words, it is better to buy a GST or GSX..
