I just got an 01 galant and discovered that it had the wrong ECM in it so I got a used ECM but now all the car will do is crank over. I am at a stand still with what to do. Any and all advice will be extremely helpful thanks

 

how do you know you have the wrong ECM before? And why was it the wrong one. Where did you get this one and do you know it came from a working car?

It could be anything from a bad ECM, bad ground, or a bad fuse. Check to see if you are getting spark to the plugs or fuel to the injectors. Also check if you can hear the fuel pump priming when the key is in the ON position.

 

I looked online and the part number one the one in the car was for an 02 then I looked up my application and got a different part number so I contacted the Mitsubishi dealer and gave them my vin and got the right part number for my car. That's when I tracked down the one I have now.
