Problem with TPMs
I just purchased two new tires at Walmart for my 2011 Outlander GT with 4WD. They rotated the tires during the install and reset the TPMs. All of the sensors were confirmed working. However, the car's computer is not recognizing the new location for the TPMs and Walmart can't seem to figure out why the car is not recognizing the new tire locations. They did not change any of the TPMs. Does anyone have a way to fix this problem without taking the car to the dealer? I noticed there were some on line sites that said you can reset the system thru the Navigation System but I could not see anything that was related to the TPM system. Any help is appreciated. .
Update: Stopped in the Sams Club Auto Dept and explained the problem. They checked the TPMs and all sensors were working. They scanned the TPMs into the cars computer and once they did that, the problem was solved. Not sure why Walmart didn't do the same thing after I took the car back to them after the first time. I spoke to the Auto Dept Mgr at Walmart and he didn't say much other than he was sorry. In the future, I don't plan to buy any more tires from them, even if they are considerably cheaper. .
