Default TPMS - About time

As we have all seen though other posts here in regards to our TPMS system, it can be quite confusing to deal with. Well, apparently we are not the only ones voicing our concerns. The Tire Indusrty Association looks as though they are going to help reduce some of the confusion . It is intended for dealers, but will be helpfull for in the know owners such as ourselves if we can get our hands on the info. See the article below

In response to confusion over the various tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) on the market, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) is creating a central location for information on TPMS fitments and servicing requirements.
"It will give dealers one place to get all their information on TPMS," a TIA spokesperson said in a tire industry publication.
TIA is compiling which TPMS fit various vehicle models and instructions on resetting the different types of sensors, torque settings and compatible replacement kits. The information will come from original equipment manufacturers.
TIA has not decided how it will distribute the information, but is considering using bulletins, charts or possibly a call-in service.
The listing is slated for completion next year.
