Hi we have a 4 cylinder Outlander and looking at purchasing a second hand jayco discovery caravan. We have a heavy duty towball. Would our vehicle be suitable to tow? I have no idea re tare weights etc. Will not be taken off-road. Cheers!

 

Hi Cheryl, I'm not sure what country you're in, but we've just bought a 2009 Citroen C-Crosser with the 2.2 HDi engine. The maximum towing weight on ours is 2,000kg braked, 750kg unbraked. We bought it whilst we were on holiday in our caravan recently, so used it to tow our Adria Adora 612DT caravan back home.

The Adria weighs 1,380KG empty, and the C-Crosser proved itself to be an excellent tow car, with plenty of power and good stability at motorway speeds. All this was while we were in 2WD, just to see how it coped.
