I have a 1998 eclipse. I have owned the car since 2000 and have never had any problems with it.
The past week it has gotten harder and harder to Shift gears, its a 5 speed.
It takes me nearly 3 minutes to get it in reverse. The weather has been cold here in the midwest and I have let the car warm up.
The longer I drive it during the day does not improve the shifting.I can come to a stop light and when the light changes to go, I sit there because I cant get it in gear..
Before I go to a mechanic and probably get taken advantage of being a female is there anything I can check for myself?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

 

well u could always start by checkin the clutch, maybe its worn out or somthin.
