Which one has more potential? any info in helpful becuase i do no want to get the Grandma version of a nice car (if Mitsubishi even has different versions) I know the 3000 GT VR-4 (??) is clocked at 180, dual turbos, and it is a really nice car... so just put in ur 2 sense please...lol

If your looking for stock performance. Don't suggest the 3rd gen Eclipse. IMO the 2g turbo Eclipse is a good place 2 start 2 learn your car and gain respect for your ride. Try and find one thats had a 6-bolt swap(semi- proffesional at least)...and learn 2 love it cause you will!

Welcome to the site, and yeah...don't do the 3G 'Clipse. Step one is find a car that you like...If you want style and power, and have patience and enough money to upgrade, yeah. 2G GS-T/GSX.

guys style is all in who is looking at it. Alot of people like the 3g better than the 2g, and if you get a 3g GT they are actually a small bit faster than a stock 2g turbo. Obviously i know the potential on a 2g is alot better, but its all on what you want for looks as well.

The models for the 3g are as follows
RS/GS have a 2.4L 4 cylinder motor that put out around 150hp.
GT have a 2.4L V6 motor put out around 205hp.

Obviously the V6 is faster stock but the I4 is better for turbocharging.

For the 2g models are as follows
RS/GS have a 2.0L I4 (420a) DO NOT buy if you want performance
GST 2.0L I4 (4g63) FWD these are very good and have alot of potential. Then there is the GSX which is the same with AWD instead.

For the 3000gt, they all came with the same V6 motor but only the VR-4 came with Twin turbo AWD. So if you want performance then you want a VR-4 only.
