Default Intercooler recommendation

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any kind recommendation for an aftermarket front mount intercooler for a 96 GSX running on a stock turbo. Also, would anyone know any links that shows how to install an intercooler and what's require? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thnx!

well if you have the skill to make a kit yourself then alot of ebay intercoolers will work fine for you. But if you are looking for a full kit that comes with the piping then i suggest www.dejonpowerhouse.com. They have a couple of kits, and i think one of them which is there smaller model will work for what your looking for

On the stock thurbo the stock intercooler is just fine. If you actually go any bigger you might actually end up losing power. So my recomendation would be either stick with stock or get a bigger turbo that needsa bigger intercooler... because lets face it... the FMIC looks BAD ***

if your upgrading a turbo just so you can put a FMIC then i wouldnt even try it. Cuz with a new turbo will come alot of other stuff you need to buy as supporting mods. Just do the research before you jump into it.

to upgrade a turbo to actually use a FMIC you are looking at walbro fuel pump, larger injectors, fmic, piping, bov won' hurt, rising rate fpr, wideband and safcII. if you can spend the 1k to go bigger turbo go for it, i'd suggest an EVO BIG 16g, it will pu tyou up to about 320-350 depending on your tune. if you are just wanting the fmic for the look... go with ebay. running an fmic on the stock turbo will lose power anyways so who cares about quality? lol if you do plan on making your car fast eventually i'd check out Buschar racing, they have a very nice FMIC kit.

Actually I have an XS power FMIC on my car (ebay) and love it. Its huge and works great. If like TheEngineersaid you dont mind doing a little customization for some of the piping then I'd go withan ebay one. I got mine with the core and short route piping and all coupling and T-bolt clamps for I believe $280? And it hasnt given me a problem yet. XS power and SS auto chrome turbos however...are a different story...

(and it had a 1g flange welded on already)
