nitrous damage????
hi i have a zex system never shot it have the nitro timer gauges purge kit its a 10 gal tank ok but question is in the 4g64 how damageing its a dry shot and around how much whp would it produce about if anyone has any types or advice that would be great thax
well, depends on how much shots of nitrous...plus zex comes w/ the unit,( i, dont knoe if u got the whole system) that detects manifold temp. the unit will shut the nitrous once the manifold heats up.

usually a 150 shot can damage the pistons but nitrous a very forgiving power adder you usually dont see the damage until you use it after a while. id get a set of forged rods and pistons to be on the safe side. ive seen a guy with a wet kit on his mustang it was a 150 shot of wet nitrous and the intake pooled and the upper intake manifold blew off you should have seen it BIG fireball came when it blew off to. but he got a new intake and all. by the way it was a cast iron stock 1999 mustang cobra intake(the suck with a poweradder) anyway he got 420TQ to the wheels when he did the run nitrous only when he blew the intake off.

i have a video of the run that youre talking about...you know that moron huh?
nitrous setups come with nozzles, and the various nozzles are identified by something like "50 shot", meaning that it adds the proper amount of nitrous into the engine to add roughly 50hp. i ran a 55 zex wet kit on a 420a sebring last year, beating the hell out of it, and we had no problems. however, running a dry kit can be dangerous, and if you know so little about it, i recommend that you do alot of studying prior to using it.

yes i know the guy hes a good internet buddy of mine. but he wasnt the one who was dynoing it. it was someone at the dyno shop that pushed the button too early and thats how it blew. but i do agree with you patrick. i would go ahead and research as much as possible on nitrous oxide before you use it, so you know what to do incase something bad happens you know how to correct the problem.
brandon GOOD LUCK with the N2O

the switch to turn on the nitrous? im not sure if there was a WOT switch or a nozzle set-up? it was a 1999 ford mustang cobra. i know how nitrous works but not sure what all the butttons are for when you get the full system, LMAO my brothers friend is getting a zex 150HP wet shot so ill get to experience the N2O. ya but anyway the guy in the mustang had it up to 5000 RPM i think it needed 5500 or 6000 to press the button for the nitrous, it was on the dyno so it sucks that it blew. maybe they went lean?
