Turbo right for 350HP?
I read up a little on the 16G turbo line but have come to some foggy conclusions. On one hand I've got the people selling the Evo III 16g saying that it's "easily capable of 400+ HP" and on the other hand I see actual people saying it's only capable of 340HP.
I'm only looknig for 350HP(to the crank) from a GSX, but room for more in case I get bored of that in the future. I'm definitely intrigued by the 16g turbo line because of its ability to produce horsepower while spooling lower than most turbos out there.
So I just want to know the real numbers behind the Big 16g turbo and the Evo III 16g turbo as those are the 2 that I'm considering at the moment.
Thanks guys.

350 at the crank is easy enough to reach with a 16g... I saw a 1st gen get dynoed with a big GT35r turbo and was only pushing about 340 at the wheels... It all depends on the rest of your setup.. With the right setup a 16g can push some good power.. But just throwing the turbo on and not getting good supporting mods you will prolly be low 300's if not under..

RE: Turbo right for 350HP?
lol i'm not building an all out drag GSX. This will be my daily driver. No drags, no rollcages or anything like that.
Stock appearance with about 350chp.
I noticed you didn't mention the 18G, why is that?
I would like a turbo capable of about 400-410hp so that I can push 350 with it, I'd like to stay away from "maxing out" a turbo cause I don't want to constantly be running max boost and straining it and wearing it out if that makes any sense. But I'd like to stay on the smaller side to minimize turbo lag.

FP3052 turbo is one fine piece of middle of the road turbo, but probably a little more turbo than you want.

Yeah, I did some research on the 18G and I just wasn't really impressed.
The 20G is getting even bigger though and I'm trying to avoid that.
There's a couple turbo's for a 90-99 GSX that've caught my eye just recently: the T04B N-trim and the T04B .47 trim
Now I'm a little confused though as to why the N-trim is about $100 more when the .47 trim is supposed to put out slightly more horsepower and is stainless steel.
Both of them however seem to be right in that perfect range that I'm looking for as far as horsepower output. Does anyone have any information about these turbos such as reliability issues, spool time, etc?

lol 1Vicious you're such a power-pusher.
Not everyone is looking for 550HP.
And while I have the money I'm not trying to put 20 grand into my car either.
I'm not trying to build a "V8ETR" or anything like that
I just want a nice respectable 300whp on my daily driver. Or maybe a little extra 320whp due to the Eclipses fat diet. That's all lol
So i'm really not aiming for "bigger is better" or "might as well get this bigger turbo as long as i'm at it" or anything like that.
