95 Expo info?
Hi there guys! Im new here and i have a few questions. 1st of all my name is Willie but im known as P.A.R (Popa's Auto Repair) anyways, I've been driving a 95 Mitsubishi Expo and I fell in love with it! It has the 2.4L 4G64 engine and the F4A23 auto trans and I wanna kinda make it quick. Im wondering things like, do 4G63T injectors fit and work?, 4G63T throttle body fit and work?, can i swap a 4G93 sohc 1.8L head to my 4G64? or a 4G63T head to my 4G64? or maybe a 4G93 cam? and like how much horsepower and or torque can my auto trans take before kaBOOM! ? I would realy apreciate all the help i get! so thanx in advance guys!

Quick is all relative. What kind of quarter mile times are you talking and then they may be able to help you. 15 second quarter to a 9 second quarter, how much money do you want to spend and changing a couple parts is not going to gain you enough to make it worth the swap. This is what I recommend, have a nice daily driver and buy a dedicated race car, they break down, period, and you alway will need something dependable. Want something zippy, find a GS-T or a GS-X and gut it, get rid of the weight and then start working on making it faster. But I don't know what to do with the tranny, those seem to be not very strong when I shifted hard. Weight kills. Making a van as a sleeper for the streets, not going to pick girls up as easy in a family van, but a race car, yah.

thanx Oldschool! well i daily drive an E34 BMW 525i but me and my wife share it. she doesnt drive much. but heres the thing, I realy wanna make this a sleeper. where im from (Puerto Rico) the guys down there make miracles out of junk yard parts and reserch like for example, my friend has a 97 Mitsubishi technica ( or a Mirage LS in the states) and he's running low 13s on a 1.8L 4g93 sohc and he mixed matched alot of mitsubishi parts and its NA. he beats GSR hatches like nothing! i was like wow! he told me a few tricks but i wanted to see what response I got here. and as times go well i bet im in the 16s some were probably close to high 15s but a low 13 1/4 time would be awesome on a 7 pasenger love wagon! i tinted it and im rolling on 6 spoke gold 17s and sounds. i realy love this thing! thanx again Oldschool for the advice! =)

13 seconds in a van would be quite a sleeper. You may have to install a power adder of some sort to move that much weight to that kind of times. Remember, everything is power to weight. Gut the van, every 100 lbs could be worth .1 seconds, at least on a V8 it is, roughly. Best of luck on your venture.
