RE: AMS Time Attack EVO!
it was on evom for like 75k i think. one thing that i don't understand is why they use a 2.3 instead of a 2.4... it can't be to much more heavy and to spool a few hundred rpm's quicker, i would think it would b worth it....

makes since... mostly. i have alwasy been taught that basically, more displacement = faster spool. so, why again wouldn't a 2.4l spool quicker than a 2.3l? i understand that the 4g64 crank (2.4l) only actually gives you apx 2.3l of displacement but you also said that you wouldn't spool any different if it was a 2.4l. why is that?

think about it. a 2.0 to a 2.3 thats a big differnece in displacement and it only gets you 400-500RPMs better spool. so 2.3 to 2.4 thats a small change I doubt you could even calculate the differnce in spool. it would only be like 100RPMs or less prob. Same with Tq it would hardly make a difference over the 2.3L basically it comes down to ease prob. because a 2.3L can me put together without question. I dont know if they would need to change the crank to get that extra .1 or if something else can account for it I have no clue but the hassle to do so for hardly anything I wouldnt bother. Plus a 2.0L can rev to like 9500 and still have power where the AMS 2.3L RR motor (there best race motor in the market to date) can only rev to 8200 safly.

not to mentiononce your moving lag time is not all that important as you can choise the gear to be in to get the best spool. I never understood the lag arguement really. I mean when I am driving and someone trys to mess with me if im in 5th at like 3000 RPMs im not going to just gun it in fifth. I going to drop to 3rd and at 5-6k RPMs the turbo will spool right up
