Default Car Culture in America

Is the name of one of my classes this semister. I registered for it for two reasons, one being that I needed a bs general studies class and I like cars so what the hell? After reading the descrption for the class my initial perception of what the class could consist of was of how captiolisim and the effects of big business on America.

...well turns out its a total **** ****ing sammitch. The professor is a dumb**** and moreover doesn't utilize any critical thinking excercises in his teaching method and in stead we're forced to memorize names and facts about the auto industry. However, the class has proved to still be somewhat entertaning. Although he teaches a entire class about cars he doesnt know **** about them and tends to say some funny **** which for your enjoyment is the following...

"the difference between rwd and fwd is philosophical"

"anyone see chevys new truck, the corvette ZR1"

"car companies have been finiancing cars since the 18th century"- my personel favorite

I didnt bother, most of the people in the class, including the prof are tools. One a day someone is suppose to present their car to the class and for the most part everyone in there either drives some sort of sport sedan mostly stock. However theres two kids that have decent cars, one kid has a 93 lt1 but he's prolly the bigggest tool in the whole class and theres a chick who has a 95 gsx with an evoIII and the works but her ****s all busted and riced out.

I digress, the kid before showing anyone the pic of his car asked the class what they through about hyundai's. I said to my friend "maybe he has a 4g53 swap, i saw that once." No one sad anything so he threw down this pic on the over head and it was a accent with black racing stripes and rims... looked pretty hideous imo.

I don't like to be stereotyped man, for real! I take real offense to it..I am quite opposite of what you stated in your quote..I'm a Master Certified sales CONSULTANT..I'm here to HELP people with their purchase..You can't make a paycheck from selling 5 or 6 cars in a month like you could in the old days, you have to sell in volume now and IF I don't sell at least 12-15 cars in a month then I don't have a decent paycheck..I hate all of the old stereotypes that go along in this business!

To be perfectly honest you're totally right. No matter where you go in this world theres always some slick *** hole sales person looking to make comission. I'm a electronics sales person and i go through the same bull **** with some co-workers that further enforce the stryeotypes of d-bag sales people. I think people always see the car sales person as an ******* because a car, unlike a blender or a couch, its a big buy and with big buys theres always a fear that they may not be making the right decision. More often than not we believe we have made the right decision and when its time to pay the bill or make a repair we dont blame our selves for not researching properly or buying responsibility instead we deflect all of our hate towards the guy who just wrote up the order.
