Default DVD-R to DVD+R

Quick question for all you tech guru's out there

I was at office max today and got some pretty cheap blank dvd's. Only problem, I couldn't remember if I had a +r burner or a -r burner. Turns out I have a +r burner, and I bought -r dvd's. My question is this, can I use the -r discs in the +r burner and have them work and work correctly when I watch the backup copies of my movies so the original's don't get scratched......haha. anyways, any help would be great.

no, if you have a + burner you can only burn + disks. Dual format burners are cheap now and you can burn either + or - and even dual layers disks, I would see about getting one.
