No, that has to be really built... i never understood the weakness of the 420a til yesterday where one blew at the track running on 10psi hahaha, soo glad mines an auto

 

It was a freak lol. It was a green 96 rs, right off the lot the kid threw ona cat back exaust and a short ram intake and it went 15.5 at 86 mph. This makes it a freak because I most poeple that do those mods are lucky to see 16sec 1/4 mile times.

The integrity of this story has been validated several times from manysources. It was never discovered what made it so fast but it was what it was. The car is gone now though, proly rotting in a junk yard some where with 170+k on it.

i dont think it was that, my homboy had one that did similar things(not as fast but faster stock then mine was modified). In his case when he replaced the timming belt he advanced the timming a bit and thats what I think happened. That or something was off spec, to raise the compression.

 

so he got lucky with just a lil timing mod?

idk it was an old thread and the engine blew a hole through the block..may have been that vid
