does venting effect your performance or just make the BOV louder?

It does both. Makes it louder and worsens your performance. However with the BOV mike has and the setup with the evo is still runs like garbage being recirc'd.

But just for a quick idea behind the problem of venting. Your MAF sensor detemines the ammount of air comming into the engine. This in turn decides the ammount of fuel to compensate. Well that fine except every tim you either shift or are comming to a stop your BOV lets out the air. Now this is air that has already been metered however your now dumping it to the atmosphere. So your engine is actually getting less air and dumping more fuel creating a rich condition and wanting to car to bog down and sometimes almost stall

Mike i remember when you were posting pictures of your engine bay for the 3g with the polished intake manifold

the stock bov will explode hahaha it can't even handle the stock turbo at stock boost levels. forget the 50trim and like 5-6 more psi.
