OUCH!! I got it at Firestone because There was a recall on the part that broke.
paid $3500 cash and drove off head to the insurance dropped $350 cuz im not 25 nor have I ever been insured b4 and my mom has 2 speeding tickets. Drove around for 2 days with a creakin noise stallin out till my next check. Lower balljoint broke takin the cv axle with it. According to my receipt from Firestone Complete Auto Care:

Alignment - $69.99
Towing - $85.00
Ball Joints - $157.80
Remove & replacement - $109.20
Half Shafts - $136.65
Reomve & inspect - $92.40

tax (7.25%) -$22.40
Total - $657.95

No im in marshall, Tx. I am however about 30 minutes away from shreveport.

 

wow you had to replace the entire driveshaft. First thats pretty rare. What did they exactly say was the problem. And damn thats the best price they could give you.

I had a problem in my talon and the wheel bearing was bad. Then it was fused to the driveshaft. Then they couldnt get the ABS sensor off the driveshaft. So i ended up needing a driveshaft, wheel bearing, and new ABS sensor...total was $750

 

Apparently the bearings in it went, and its a "sealed unit" meaning: get the vasoline, its gonna be rough, lol.

 

Well if its just a wheel bearing you shouldnt need a new driveshaft. Maybe its just something different with volvo's
