no the engine does less work getting the power to 2 wheels. but when we are talking high high hp numbers aparently RWD beaths AWD outa the trap. i don't understand it either but hey... i don't understand how 4000hp rail cars get ANY traction running like 5's i the quarter...... so i'm not the one to argue the subject.

david, he's got an 03. i agree also, it takes a LOT to get a rwd car w/ enough power to get a better jump off the line than awd.
again that is not true nor is it an opinion. Guys this is FACT through and through. Honestly why would I agrue against my car if it wasnt.

all you need is tires and RWD will eat me up. Keiths RX7 has BFG drags and hi car will launch right next to mine. He was pulling 1.7s at the track and that is on street drags put slicks on there or an even more agressive drag tire he will beat me for sure. and its not like my Evo spins out of the hole. RWD is better for drag plain and simple that is why i you watch funny car drags they dont use AWD. The comparison davidmitsu made is retarted in a way to you have to remember all the other factors. RWD on street radiul will obviosly get smoked. on top of that the weight differences of the cars and the TQ the cars make.

On the street racing from a stp AWD wins most of th time off the line but the track will be different depending on what the RWDs guys are running for tires and some suspension. The WOTm supra does a 1.3 60ft and runs 9.2 or something yea its a 1000HP car but it weights alot more than a 900HP evo that runs the same times. The other thing to remember AWD cars generally cant run very wide tires the most you see on an Evo is around 265 or 255s and RWD cars slap on some nice fatties like 315s like its nothing. Keiths tires are 295s in the rear so your putting alot more rubber on the pavment too

i would hate to see Mike get proved wrong one day lol. anyways, i wasn't going against what you were saying Mike, only stating that i don't understand it... 4wd i would think would get more traction than 2wd.... that's all.

AWD does get more traction up to a point. but RWD with tires will far surpass that given the right setup. when you got a I6 that can pop a wheely for a stop then you know you got good traction lol because a supra is not going to make HUGE low end TQ like a V8 and the Traction is what lifts the front end
