I would steer clear. More then likely it's more then just a sensor for it not running. I'm not a big fan of turned cranks either. The manual says they are unservicable. Plus, for all you know the motor could be empty, or a bomb.Offer $4k, then it might be worth it. I wouldn't want the hassle that thing will more then likely bring. I predict a lot of downtime.

Oh yeah Ron. Engine management shows a Haltech, not DSMLink. He also has an intake cam and no exhaust cam.
What did he get done to the tranny? He stated that it was rebuilt and why is he only on an ACT 2100?
The intent was there, but this car has a weird mix of things. It looks like he was getting ready to build up some more, but.....? He decided to stop for whatever reason...cam sensor can't be it.

you know...i think the excitement may have gotten the better of me... i am in agreeance with everything that you have mentioned... i think i just got caught up in the moment to use my brain. i was thinking that this whole thing sounded fishy at first and i think i was right. i left a v-mail for him on his house and cell phone so when he calls i'll be sure to go down the whole list of qustions when he calls back. - if he calls back.

Just listen closely to see if he is trying to screw you over. Remember what was stated and tell us so that we can nitpick it. It's a good list of mods but if it's not running...there could be anything wrong with it and a simple issue like the cam sensor shouldn't be an issue at all, because in the end and like you said, it's a simple fix compared to anything else on the 4g63 motor. It's also a rare issue.
A list of mods like that seems eclectic to me and because of that, it could have cause bigger issues. Even forged internals can break.
Just trying to look out for you bro.

well i just had a huge post written out but while re-reading one of the guy's e-mail's i realized that the shop told him that the motor has crankwalk and will need to replace the bottom end. . . bummer. DAMN, why couldn't i see that before??? here's the exact description from the dealer:
“… Determined cause to be broken crankshaft position sensor. Cause of broken sensor is excessive crankshaft end play (approximately .050 of an inch), which is enough for the pick up plate to come out of alignment and break the sensor. Engine lower end will have to be replaced.” I have been told the condition is referred to as “crankwalk.”

thanks for the offer Dusty.

here's my outlook. i'd be getting a gsx "shell" for 5k. if i were to replace the bottom end w/ a stage 3 2.3l stroker which is 2675 i'd have a motor that is 800whp capable for 7700. thats hella good IMO. then just get some 990cc injectors and an fp3065 and be good to go, it's got all of the other suporting mods on it. i'm definatly going to try to talk him down to about 4k if i can b/c i'll have to pay for shipping for it also... what do you think? oh, and i'm not paying more than 4500 for it w/ a blown bottom end.
