you've got a stock gst w/ nothing but an exhaust and flywheel. what would make u think that it woul break? how many miles do you have on the car? hell, as long as it's maintained well, it will last.
before i swapped the new engin in my del sol i took that lil SOHC 1.5 98hp motor from:
Charleston, SC - Atlanta and back
Charleston - Charlotte and back (twice)
Charleston - Charlotte - Myrtle beach and back
Charleston - Jacksonville, FL and back (twice)
And all of this was between March and December. as long as you take care of ur car, it'll take care of you.

I keep up with all my maintenance and take really good care of it,but that doesnt mean the previous owners did the same. As far as mileage it has just about 143k on the clock. Which is pretty damn high for a 99.

i duno. DSM's hav such a bad wrap for being unreliable but the only real problem that i've seen from them on a consistant basis would be crankwalk. other than that, all cars have their problems from time to time. but i'd say 90% of problems that come with DSM's are due to previous owners who were just beating on their turbocharged (so i'm cool) car back in 95-99.

I agree, that is the main cause for problems. And because those dumbasses beat the **** out of the car, i now have to replace at least two parts a month lol.

haha. i think before i buy my GSX (wayyy down the road) i'll prolly have a fully built motor in my garage ready for it along w/ quite a few other parts ready to go on there. if you replace everything that usually breaks and if everything is basically brand new its just like rolling it off the show room floor and starting over.
