Went to work 8am and had to do a commercial service call on a 20' x 18' overhead door. While I was winding the springs back up, the spring slipped and I started to fall. I knew I was screwed once I failed to get a grip after 3 times, my buddy workin with me was tryin to grab me as well. I ended up twisting while falling against the ladder and the first thing to hit the cement floor was my forehead, luckily I hit square on so it didn't bleed real bad. But I fractured my ankle and my hip, so that means I'm no-weight bearing for awhile. It was very scary and I'm glad I'm on meds right now cause it hurts like a bitch. I was actually above the door about a foot when I fell, so about 19' straight to the cement and I'm still alive. Pretty lucky if ya ask me. Worst news of all, the doctor said I can't drive until I get a release from the Occupational Ortho Therapist.

Don't ask me why I'm online, I got home and I'm bored...

 

Sorry to hear that. We get patients who fall less than that and they get ****ed up worse than that you are really lucky.

Been there done that...I feel 22 feet off a telephone pole and severly broke 3 vertibra in my back...somehow im ok too.[&:] I landed in the middle of a street head first

 

Holy ****... i fell 15 feet and landed on my feet (drop and roll) and i was fine. That sucks dude i hope you have a speedy recovery

 

I forgot to mention I also got a skull fracture but the doc says it probably won't be any trouble.

Damn dude hope you get well soon and sorry to hear that shyt happened. I watched a guy fall from a ladder once. He's now disabled. (He fell from the roof of the shop when the ladder snapped in half. fortunately he jumped and only jacked his ankle but the ER misdiagnosed it and said it wasn't broke when it was.)

 

I think Emonz is the lucky one lol, good thing there wasn't a big truck goin down the road when you fell.
