Nikon make some of the best cameras in the world.
Personally i recomend anything in their "L" series. Example the "Coolpix L1, L2, L3 and L4. The L1 is the highest spec and the L4 is the cheapest. I have the L4 and still takes great pictures at a reasonable price.

RE: I want a digital camera
i have an older coolpix, and before that i had an even older coolpix, and i love them both...
mind you, i rely on my camera for work, but im not going to drop 600 bucks for an SLR...the hardest part is figuring out when to use which setting, but once i got it down, i am VERY happy with the pictures that it takes...and mine is only a 4600..ive had it for a few years now...the video is not great, but for a camera that is not meant to take video, im happy with it..just not enough video zoom.

hey patrick, thats roughly the same as mine i think with alittle less Megapixels. What do you do for night shots because i cant figure out how to get them to not be blurry. I go into nightime mode or even the normal camera mode and it almost always comes out blurry

and there arent many night time car shows, although at the big events like the press day for the NAIAS, some displays arent well lit, and i have to play with settings.

its more blurry at night because it takes the camera more time to actually process the picture, you might hear the shutter click, but you'll have to wait until it clicks again, because if you don't it'll move the picture before it is processed fully. i had that with my camera, this is mine and i use my dad's SLR for pictures that i want to take time with. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...p?product=1188
