Who's talking about a ws6? All ws6's are convertables, their slow as *****. My one friend has a 98ta(picked it up for 15000 w/ 60k) and another had a 99ws6, stock the 98 reg ta walked the ws6. For 20g you could have a low 11 sec car, and for another 8g a low 10.

RE: Ideas?? Trade the EVO!!!
i was thinking about the newer ones sorry. But as far as an automatic supra and what it can do. They are faster than the 5-speed and this one already runs around a low 12. Plus the only reason i can really see getting a supra over a trans am is that the rarity. I see plenty of trans ams up here but only once have i seen a twin turbo supra.
And sebba watch this video and then let me know what you think. Like you i was skeptical about the auto until i saw this.

The WS-6 package comparable to the SS package on the Camaro's and was available as hard and soft top. Obviously only a one year snapshot is all I provided here. This was pulled from the 4th generation birds portion of transamworld.com. And FYI, the firehawk was more potent than the Camaro SS and the WS6 Ram air with equal HP and Torque ratings of 335. The 1998 SS Camaros/ TA's were only rated at 320 HP, BUT, on a chassis dyno they would post 300 RWHP and 13 second times with 104-106 MPH. Not so bad off the showroom floor. Apparently the General was looking at insurance costs of the drivers when rating these motors. And oh yeah....mmmm, 6 speed manual transmnissions.
RARE 1991-1992 Firebird Firehawk produced 350 HP, but were limited to only 25 cars between the two years.
1999 PONTIAC FIREBIRD PRODUCTION FIGURES

RE: Ideas?? Trade the EVO!!!
Engineer, i never doubted what he said about the auto being quicker than the 6spd. I simply said that i dont like auto trans because i dont feel like im in controll. It makes me nervous not to have a clutch. As far as the video goes that looks like its been modded to all hell.

The 6 spd I would perfer myself but the Auto is still a car you can cruise and destroy all. Still be fun. The 6spds also sell for about $5k higher than the Autos
