I'm a Honda guy and I'm on a Mitsu site

RE: I'm a Honda guy and I'm on a Mitsu site
Ok first I would like to say hey, whats up. I would be lieing if I said I had just "stumbled" across the site as me and Patrick know each other from another forum which I help out a tad bit on.
Let me lay this out for you guys. This is my freinds car but him and I built it from the ground up. He is on another Mitsu site which will go nameless as I am not here to advertise. He started off all wrong. Bought a 2000 Eclipse automatic right. Well we messed around with it a lil with no research into the car really. Then we decided well we will boost it.
Ok so a 4g64 automatic boosted with emanage and a eo1 did not make us happy. This was with a evo 8 big 16g and a pretty damn good tune. It did ok I guess and got the car down the track in the mid to low 15 second range. Putting down around 220whp and about 250wtq on a dynojet but then it over heated one time. Did not hurt anything but he bought a built 4g64 with a built sohc head. We put it all together and the dumb *** that built it was a retard or something but it was all to hell to say the least. So we yanked it out and started our own build.
Fresh 4g64 block. Block bored .020" over. Balance shafts removed.
Wiseco pistons for a Evo w/ a 4g64 from RRE and Crower Rods
Polished Crank
ARP Main Studs
ARP Head Studs
Clevite 77 p-series rod and main bearings

quality aint great and it's only like a 20mph to 80mph pull at 9psi with the new gt30r but it is something. it's sitting at around 16psi now. more vids to come in the near future

All I know is the SOHC head on the 4G64 is hte weakest link after the motor is built and that is wear the power is limited so the EVO head should flow enought to really break some barriers of the 3G I4s

yea I am really suprised it is not done more often. But(and please dont take this wrong) most 3G owners are more on the make it look good side of things than the go all out and build it to the gills side of things.
