Default Jetta

well i was thinking of buying a jetta. more than likely the mkIII (1991-1998) i think. i like those body styles.

does anyone own a jetta?

oh and i want one because you can get them turbo as well and i just want to try something non dsm. (dont kill me for saying that) lol plus i need a 5 speed car to play with since my talon is auto

yea vw's are pretty difficult to work on, but they are pretty reliable and fun to drive

yeah ive heard they are reliable. another reason i want to get one is because my mom is about to buy this mg kit car and they have a vw engine in it.

the 1.8t's are known to catch on fire lol, specially if they're modded. if you want something thats reliable, go with a 2.0, if you want stock performance, as in you dont want to mod it too much, id get a vr6. they're torquey little guys.

yeah i have been looking at the engines and such and it seems like almost any engine will go in any of them. plus if you want to im pretty sure the golf front ends bolt right up.

i want a vr6 if any of them.

i like V dubs...cool cars, fun to drive...basically like a uglier eclipse except Vdubs are reliable..

i wouldnt go so far as to say they are reliable, maybe a bit moreso then dsm's, but ive seen more vw's breaking down around me then dsm's are. my friends vr6 just spun a bearing, he got the motor replaced, then not even a week later he broke his halfshaft

is he running aftermarket stuff? cause from my expierences vdubs are very reliable stock cars...

Yeah, don't expect to be able to tune it like a dsm.
