they still totalled it.
new door new fender and new hood/ bumper some paint and the car would be like new. assuming the frame is ok and suspension that is but I know there is more to it than what I listed

well the only reason they totalle it is because they weren't going to fix the car if the damages were more than the worth of the car. And since the air bags went off they were alot to fix in itself.

yea but thats a quoted price and usually with new parts and alot higher than normal. So im sure it could have been fixed for alot cheaper than they quoted. But in general, if the air bag goes its almost an automatic total for them. The same thing happened to my sisters honda. They totaled it but i know the body damage was less than 1k and her car was worth around 4k. And its just a computer that tells them the costs and the worth of the car.

How many miles are on it? Worth of a vehicle being put on the road is all dependant on the owners love of the car. If you like it and it's a good running car then yes it was worth it. If you don't like it or it runs like crap then no.

Also remember a car will NEVER be the same after a wreck. But you didn't wreck it so you don't really know how it was before.

Also I think someone getting a wrecked or badly deteriorated car actually makes a person appreciate a car more. If you take the time, $, and effort to rebuild/repair a car, you'll be more likely to treat it better and more likely to keep it longer than if you bought a car that you drove for a while. Repairing a vehicle puts something of yourself into it. I wouldn't even DREAM of selling my quest now that I've rebuilt the front of the engine and am soon going to rebuild the entire engine. (Long story it's here in bits and pieces if you care to look for it).

i got it at 45217km a 2004 soo i guess it wasn't all that bad. and yah your right, i don't no how it was driven and everyting, but i got in touch with the previous owner he said this car was a beauty he loved it and kept it good. i soon realized he was telling the truth as this car provided me with everlasting memories, attention (girls saying it looks sexy) (kids saying OMG OMG it has sparkles, MOMMY Their chaning colours, WOW) lol. it runs great, i never lost a race and i raced a 300m, 3.2cl (he was good) but in the end i caught up, my cousins 350z roadsteri had a good start but lol i slowed down soo dere was no chance of him winning lol etc etc. ye i love this car. and i'm glad i brought it back to life. even though it was a lot of money spent, knowing i got an eclipse gt from scrap, to making ppl say dyam. i guess i'm fulfilled with happiness.

Then there you go. As long as it's a quality repair job (And for that price it BETTER be) and it turns heads how you want it to then I think it's worth it.
