Hey guys I am in a bit of a pickle trying to sell/trade my eclipse. There is a guy who wants to buy my car tuesday but I have had a pretty good trade opportunity come up. A guy from San Fransisco wants to trade me for his 1997 N/T supra 5 speed. It has 113K on it. He says he doesn't have a job and he can't afford to keep it anymore. But from what he says there are no problems with the engine. He is supposed to send me pics soon. It has a clean title. The only bad thing is that it has a body kit (YUCK!). all he has done is exhaust. What do you guys think? I am not looking for something to make amazing power, but I have always loved supras. What do you guys think? Unless it is a supra I am just going to go with something more reliable that gets a little better MPG. The other option is a '01 Prelude type SH with 47k miles on it. Let me know, advice is appreciated! No flaming please! haha

 

If I was to say right off the bat, I would say it is worth more than the GSX.

However, I am not by any means a Supra expert, that is Mikes field.

 

Exactly.... i would go for it.... merely for the fact that it could be worth some.. you can make money out of the trade if it doesnt suit your taste... of course... get the stock kit on =)

 

NA supras sell around 9-$15k depends on milage condition and weather or not it is a targa or hardtop and also what color it is. 97 is an amazing year if it is a hartop too because even though it is NA there were only l ike 53 hartops made in 97.

Basically these charts will show you exactly how rare that car is. In 1997 only NA53 hardtop 5spds were made total(no TT hardtops were made after 1995) and only 173 total 5spd Targa NA's were sold. in 1997 there were only 157 total jewal green TT cars made so that to me says the color alone was pretty rare.

Keep in mind these charts are not 100% accurate but they are pretty damn close

well I got the pics, I decided not to go with it because I feel like it probably had the crap drove out of it. it had rims, lowered, fart can, fugly body kit, and the front bumper was messed up, plus 113k miles is really getting up there. Since I am trying to go with something reliable I think I better stay away.

 

you realize these cars lasy well behond 200k right. A TT guy with all bolt ons just had to replace his stock turbos at 267k motor still going strong. These cars are the most reliable you are going to get a sports car unless you get a terminator cobra. Even the NA supras had the same forged rods that the TT had. Body work is an easy fix and 113k is low milage (how that is up there to you is behond me)
